Manatee Tours all year round

We offer Manatee Tours all year round in Crystal River and during the winter months we have an additional manatee tour location on the Homosassa. Depending on the time of year you are vacationing here in Florida our staff guides the manatee encounter making your vacation a memorable one. The Crystal River Manatee snorkel and dive Combo Tour- Snorkelers do not be alarmed by the word dive as this is an addition to the manatee snorkel portion of the tour. The first portion of the trip is snorkel with the manatee and the only why to encounter the manatee is at the surface snorkeling. Manatee are very curious and playful at the surface but when they are at the bottom leave them alone as the bottom is where the manatee eat and sleep. Allowing the manatee to come to you makes for a successful encounter. Our staff is in the water snorkeling with you to assist with new snorkelers and guiding with helpful hints on how to interact with manatees in the wild. Crystal River is a dive destination with seventy two degree Fahrenheit spring water giving year round diving conditions. For the divers in the family we offer a dive after the manatee snorkel. Gear up for the dive while the snorkelers continue to check out the springs. The dive descends down to thirty feet where the entrance to the cavern begins. As long as your comfortable follow the divemaster on an adventure into the cavern to see fish, ghost shrimp and your bubbles look like tiny mirrors moving across the ceiling. The back portion of the cavern is fifty feet in depth where fossils line the cavern walls and a small chimney can be viewed. This dive is a half hour dive time and adds to your morning manatee tour. Tour time is 7:00 am and reservations are very important as some days do sell out the seats on the boat.

The Homosassa Manatee Tour is a location stepping back in time. Traveling from the docks to where the manatee play is like a journey to the back woods of old Florida. Usually the morning fog clings in the trees and the occasional bird flying over just adds to the ambience of this setting. Unlike the Crystal River Manatee Tour the Homosassa Manatee Tour is offered between the middle of November till the end of March just during the cold months. This river is narrow and very shallow with depths of only three to six feet. If your new to snorkeling no worries as our staff assist everyone in the water and we video the manatee tour. Tour times 6:30 and 9:00 am and reservations are very important as some days do sell out the seats on the boat.
